Maldives is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The country is present in the Indian Ocean and is very beautiful. The place has got pristine beaches with marvelous places to have fun and frolic on the sea side. This is one of the few places on Earth that have not really been polluted and is great for a retreat from the hectic ways of ones regular lifestyle. Maldives is one of the lowest places on the surface of Earth. The country is only one and a half meters above the level of the sea. This makes it more risky in case of global warming to be submerged.

Getting to Maldives and accommodation:

Maldives can be reached both by air or by ship. There are flights from India and also Sri Lanka frequently. There are also flights from various other countries. In the recent years, the number of flights have increased with the discovery of this place as a tourist resort. In fact Maldives is one of the places that are being discovered as a hot tourist destination and the facilities and amenities are increasing to accommodate all the visitors who visit the country. There are more than a hundred places to stay that are all resorts on this beautiful place.

Things to enjoy in Maldives:

Maldives is not a single island. It comprises of hundreds of small islands. The capital is Male and one has to spend a day in this place to learn more about the culture of the people living here. It is a unique culture that is not spoilt by the mainland people. This is because of the preservation of various things in this small country.

One can enjoy the beautiful coral reefs on this island. The islands are all surrounded by pristine beaches with beautiful coral all around. The sea is deep blue and also very calm. It is one of the best places to snorkel and there are various resorts and clubs that offer snorkeling tours.

There are also schools of fish that can be seen swimming in the beautiful oceans. The water is so clean that one can appreciate even the colors of the fish that are swimming underwater. This makes it a very surreal experience for the people who visit this island. It becomes a love affair with this island and this has made many people make unplanned visits to this island for a holiday after they visited this place for the first time.

One shudders to think that all this beauty will be lost forever if the global warming continues at the alarming pace as it is now. This should be one of the most important reasons for the people of the world to unite and save one of the smallest nations from perishing. The beauty of this island is as important as any other place as it can never be forgotten if a person enjoys it once.
