Television viewing is one of the most common pastimes of people. Now there is something very significant that is happening around the world which may one day make the television a thing of the past. The television might even become like the extinct dodo of which people hear about, but cannot see. All this is because of the rapid strides technology and computers have made in the past few years. The role of nanotechnology in all this has also made the computer more compact, versatile and has increased the functions of the computer. Many people have started using the technology to watch television programs. To watch live sports goes one step further because it is a live feed and is watched by people without a delay in transmission. There are many methods used by people to watch live sports shows on their own personal computer. The common method that is used is the live streaming using torrent. It is easy to download this and then start viewing their favorite programs. Internet television, internet protocol television is one of the other recent methods that are being used to watch sports shows on the computer. Internet protocol television also known as IPTV is one of the common methods used. Broadband internet connections have made this possible as the speed of data downloads have increased many times over in the past few years. The reason for people trying to watch the sports program on their computer is very simple. They can use both the computer and also watch their sports program at the same time. Some people even open two windows and watch the sports show on one as they work in the other window. The versatility offered by the computers in their function has increased the role they are able to play in the lives of people. There is a risk of watching live sports shows using the streaming. This is because of the risk of malware and spyware getting downloaded on to the computer. These can not only damage your computer, but can also cause losses if the data stored in your computer is used for various devious purposes. There are also other disadvantages associated with watching the sports show on your computer. If your computer is not configured to such great speeds of downloads, the computer may slow down to an extent. It can also not be quite good quality because there is not adequate choice of software to view the programs. The existing software is also not very useful in causing a good live streaming. As the role of computers keep increasing in making the television viewing easier and simpler, the software and the other accessories related to making this a reality is sure to be developed on a large scale. In fact the United States of America is one of the countries where there is a largest population of people who double their computer as a television. So though computers can be used to watch live sports shows, a few years down the line, it will become simpler and more efficient.
