Humor is a very important part of life. People who have been humorous and have been laughing a lot in their life have had a very long and healthy life. This is because of the various benefits of laughing and also being humorous. This article lists the many ways in which humor and laughing can help to have a healthy life.

1. Longevity:

Laughing has helped many people to have a happy life. There are many people who have been laughing a lot and this has helped them to live longer than many others. This is because when a person is laughing, the stress in the person is decreased. When the stress is decreased, it helps to decrease various stress related problems in the person. This is the main reason as to how laughing and humor help in the longevity of a person.

2. Depression is decreased:

Humor and laughing have another important role and that is to decrease the depression that is seen in people. There are many people who suffer from depression. These people seldom laugh. There are only very few people who laugh and also are depressed at the same time. Laughing helps the persons life to have a positive and pleasant feeling. This itself will make the depression in the person to disappear.

3. Increased oxygen to the body:

Each of us take a deep breath every few minutes when we are doing some work. This is because the oxygen to the brain decreases after sometime and when we take a deep breath, it makes us have a increased supply of Oxygen to the brain. This is very important and when a person laughs, the Oxygen that is supplied to the various tissues and also the brain increases. This is one of the very important facts and also benefits of laughing. When there is increased Oxygen supplied to the tissues, it keeps the person healthier.

4. General feeling of well being:

The person who keeps laughing a lot either naturally or laughs as a therapy also have a general feeling of well being. These people have a positive attitude about life and they are happier than the general population. This makes the person to feel good about life itself. This in turn makes them to be feeling good about life.

5. Prevents heart diseases:

Laughing a lot will also help to prevent the heart diseases from occurring. This is because when a person laughs, it makes them feel very good and this also plays a major role in the decrease of blood pressure. When a person is very highly stressed, it makes the person feel sad and also increases the blood pressure. The opposite happens when the person laughs. The blood pressure decreases and also the stress is relieved and this makes the person to have decreased risk of heart problems.

These are the various reasons for which a person should be happy as much as possible and also laugh a lot. Laughing decreases the risk of various diseases and keeps a person healthy.
