Knowledge on commerce and business were considered as subjects of commerce students and business professionals. But now it has become a need of everybody to know about commerce and business. Today, the ups and downs in the economy affect everybody in society. So, everybody needs to know about how to manage their resources in different phases of the economy. Investment has become a need of the time. To face any possible risks, for the costly expenditures of the education of children, for the marriage like ceremonies, for the retired life, to own a home or vehicle etc people need to go for investment. A person who invests in profitable sectors like shares, mutual funds, debentures etc, he needs to know about the commerce and business very well. So no matter whatever the subject one has suited in college, when he comes into professional life, he needs to gain the knowledge about commerce and business. There are many business people like Narayan Murthy, Azim Premji etc, who have studied technical subject, but has proved to be good business administrators. There are many magazines available on commerce and business. By reading those magazines one could really gain the knowledge about commerce and business. Because of the widening scope for commerce and business, it has been a subject being chosen by majority of the students. MBA has been a Post Graduation which has got a wide demand on the job market. The main reason for MBAs are preferred is for their knowledge on commerce and business. MBA students along with their study material, if they would have the practice of keeping them daily updated with the business magazines and business news, it would make them very competitive.
