Kiwi fruit and the important health benefits it offers.

Kiwi fruits are a genre apart from almost all the other fruits. This is because it has a few effects that can be got only by eating a mix of various other fruits. The health benefits derived from eating kiwi fruit is simply amazing. This article explains the details as to why the kiwi fruit is very good for the person eating it.

1. Nutritive value: The kiwi fruit has many vitamins and minerals in it. The most common vitamin is the Vitamin C. It also contains Vitamin A and Vitamin E. In fact the amount of vitamin C found in Kiwi fruit is more that that found in oranges (oranges are supposed to be the fruit with the maximum amount of Vitamin C by many people). The Kiwi fruit also has a high content of potassium. This potassium level is as much of that present in bananas. The kiwi fruit has the combined effect of eating an orange and a banana. The kiwi fruit also contains beta carotene which also has many health benefits.

2. Respiratory illnesses: Eating kiwi fruit caused a decrease in the incidence of respiratory illness. This has been noticed in a study in Italy. This may be attributed to the high levels of Vitamin C present in the Kiwi fruit. (Vitamin C has been found to play a role in preventing respiratory illnesses).

Kiwi fruit has been found to prevent respiratory illnesses like asthma. Kiwi fruit has been found to prevent dyspnoea (shortness of breath). This health benefit of kiwi fruit is not found in any other fruit.

3. Protection to cells: A substance called as flavonoid has been found to have a beneficial effect to the health. This is because of the protection of the cells by this substance. This prevents the cells of the body from undergoing mutation. This is a major health benefit because this can help to prevent cancers that are usually caused by mutation of cells in the body.

4. Anti oxidants: The anti oxidant effect of Kiwi fruit is also well known. The consumption of kiwi fruit helps to prevent the free radicals present in the body from causing damage by neutralizing them. This prevents cancer. This is another health benefit that can be got by eating kiwi fruit.

5. Vision: Kiwi fruit has a unique health benefit as far as the eye is concerned. Eating Kiwi fruit regularly has been found to reduce the formation of eye complications. The most common eye complication that is prevented by eating kiwi fruit is age related macular degeneration (AMRD). All the vitamins found in kiwi fruit play a role in preventing this disease in people. This was confirmed in a research study involving more than a hundred thousand people.

6. Fiber content: The kiwi fruit has one more important health benefit and that is because of the high fiber content in the fruit. This increases the bulk in the fruit. The high fiber content also helps to act as a laxative and reduces the chance of constipation. It also reduces the risk of colon cancer.
