Keep the wait and watch policy - Stock markets and investing

By: money - Article Submitted on: 2008-08-30

Markets have become so critical that general investors should be away from here.

In a bull market, success is measured by how fast and reliably your wealth builds. Bear markets have a somewhat different benchmark for performance: holding on to what you have. And that’s become increasingly difficult this summer. As any experienced investor has found out, the only way to completely avoid losses in a down time is to go 100 percent cash. If, you are playing in margin then creating well to sink. Better to be in cash or stay away from market.

Political uncertainties can push the market in any direction. And, that’s going on in India. So, keep patience and wait for right time. Markets are overwhelmed with bad news. Any time, any news can push down the market. So, better to stay away.

Now crude is leading the Indian market. It had forgotten the global market only looking towards the prices of crude. Crude is the the only factor that can cool off the inflation rate. And in Indian market inflation is playing major role.

Apart from all these things Indian market is waiting for nuke deal. On 4th of September nuclear supplier group meeting will be held. And from there market can take a direction. Means next week is very important for the Indian market. It can get a better cue and break their current range.

Apart from all these things US economy recession is also worrying. Nothing is clear there. Sometime, it seems everything is going well and suddenly some bad news come and devastates the entire market. I think in next few months things will be clear. And from there people can start buying.

In a scenario like this a general investor should follow a wait and watch policy. But, if you are a long term investor then don’t worry, keep investing. It’s a good time for accumulation of shares.

This is authors personal opinion and users should do their own research before making any stock trading decisions.
