Develop the right attitude in childhood itself: The ambition of becoming a doctor should start with sacrifice from the young age. The people who have aim to become a doctor should imagine and visualize the respect and satisfaction of helping others. When a child decides to become a doctor, he or she should specialize in the subjects of mathematics and science. The parents should encourage the child and help the dream to come true. The child may have to spend a lot of time for studies but there is pride in doing well in the classes and moving towards the goal. The parents should impart in the minds of a child - a career as a doctor is right for you-. We can say that medicine is a unique field as it demands a unique person. Do I have the right aptitude, attitude and academic excellence required to become doctor?: Many factors must be considered while making the decision of becoming a doctor. Can you excel in studies and get good grades? Do you have the perseverance to complete the training successfully? Are you a good test taker and able to tackle any problem? Are you willing to make the necessary sacrifices to get through medical college and in medical profession? And finally, do you have a strong desire to help people and make them happy, as the profession of doctor is considered next to God? Is it really tough to become a doctor? It is said that becoming a doctor is difficult. It takes many years for studies and is expensive also. When the parents are doctors, the child normally dreams about this profession. At least, in the present generation, people should think of bringing up one child in the family as a doctor, as there will be more and more doctors in the family, in future. Also, we need more and more doctors for our country and world. Life of a medical student: As a medical student he must spend lot of time for studies and in the lab, he cannot spend much time with the family. The family members should cooperate well. The family should also be ready to face much financial burden for studies. After becoming a doctor, he is not only well respected in their community and family, he also achieves financial success. A great profession comes with great responsibilities: After becoming a doctor, he should not forget that he has devoted his life to the improvement of mankind. He is curing diseases by giving medicine and other kinds of treatment. He gives advice about diet, exercise, and sleep, to get well and keep fit. The doctor may have to work for day and night and he may get little time for looking after his family and other activities. He has to know how to talk to sick people, to make decisions and handle emergencies. The job opportunities for doctors are expected to be good, especially in rural and low-income areas and some of these areas do not have enough doctors. The doctors should always be prepared to take frequent refresher courses throughout the career. Higher studies and specialisation: After deciding the choice of becoming a doctor, he should think about the field of specialisation. There are many kinds of doctors. The family and general practitioners are the first doctors that people go to, when they get sick and these doctors treat common problems. They also send patients to other doctors, called specialists. Specialists are experts in different types of health problems. So it has become very clear now that it is not all tough to become a doctor and serve mankind.
