We do shopping, when we have money and also the mind to do shopping. Sometimes we may have to spend hours and visit many shops to pick up the things of our choice. Even then, at times, the item selected may not catch our mind. So, without much satisfaction, we may buy things, to finish off the work of shopping. It is better to do window shopping whenever we find time. For some, it is a hobby to do window shopping. What is window shopping? It is a recreational activity by just seeing many things through glass windows and enjoying. By browsing through windows, we can have an idea of new things, entering the market. We may get a mood to purchase things also. When we don't have the mood to purchase, it is advised to do window shopping, controlling the mind. For making purchase, we have to examine the things thoroughly. The price, colour, durability and service aspects are the main factors, we have to see. The person making window shopping may imagine to purchase the item, if he has not brought enough money. He may plan to make the purchase afterwards, providing money in the next budget, for the selected item. Some people spend many hours for shopping, without minding food and sleep. Some people feel tired to do shopping for a small time. When some discount is announced, people may rush to that shop, to buy the item at the cheaper rate. For some people, window shopping is an addiction. They do window shopping for the unwanted things also and their mind will compel them to buy those items. Window shopping is always good, for clothes, jewellery and toys. At the festival season, before making the actual purchase, ladies spend some time for window shopping first. The new arrivals and the eye-catching items attract them more. The electronic goods and costly items should not be decided by window shopping. The proper planning, thorough analysis and enquiry is required for the purchase of these items. Let us see, whether window shopping is useful in any way. By doing window shopping, we get a familiarity of the item. We can compare the brand, price and colour of the item, while doing window shopping. We may find some useful items while doing window shopping. We spend time in an enjoyable way while doing window shopping. It is a relaxation to mind and body. Some disadvantages are also there in doing window shopping. Some people get addicted to do window shopping again and again for the unwanted items also, wasting their time and energy. They are tempted to do buy the items also, which should be avoided. There is no harm in doing anything by spending little time and selecting the useful things. Overdoing the window shopping alone is objectionable.
