Normally we are interested in keeping the things at the right place in house and maintaining them properly. Only the rich people could spend money for interior decoration and make the house glitter. Is it possible to decorate our small house or room and give it a grand and elegant look? The art of decoration of rooms inside the house with the existing architecture is called interior decoration. The look of the room would be enhanced by making some decorations. We need not worry even if our house is very small. We could make it grand by making decoration, inside the house. Everybody feels proud while living in a beautiful house, however small it may be. We should not purchase big and space-consuming furniture while living in a small house. We should keep the essential things only. We could do interior decoration by ourselves or by engaging professionals. Normally by fixing wallpapers, painting walls, choosing right furniture, placing accessories, fittings and curtains, the house could look more beautiful. The lights, lamps and light fixtures give a gorgeous look. The interior decoration deals with selection of right furniture and other items and keeping them at the correct place and position, as per the size and shape of the rooms. The interior design deals with the art of interior architecture. We should not spend much money for interior decoration of our house. We should know to adjust the available space in a beautiful way to accommodate more things and people. We could choose the pleasing color for painting our house. We could make small wall hangings suitable to the room. Modern and small multipurpose furniture could help to save space. We should not fill the entire space with things. We should have sufficient moving space in every room. Every room should have proper lighting. As far as possible we should arrange things neatly in built-in closed cupboards. The light color wall paper with dark border with matching woodwork gives a beautiful look to the room. Small defects in ceiling and walls could be covered by beautifully designed papers. While entering the house we should get the feeling of harmony. That is most important. We should not change the basic things. The drawing room should look like a drawing room only. Similarly, we should not dump bedroom with things and make it a store room. In the kitchen all the essential items needed for cooking should be placed. We should not walk from kitchen to other rooms, while cooking. The room of children should be decorated, as per their choice. It may contain pictures and wall hangings, which they like. The old people in the house should have easy access to the things required for them. We could make an ordinary house a sweet home by spending a little money and some energy. The interest we show could help us a lot in decorating the house well. We could collect small and beautiful things while doing shopping and place them at the right place.
