Indian athletes fail to win good number of medals at Olympics. But European countries and African countries grab many prizes. India has the population of one billion. Do we really choose the best amongst these one billion? If we are choosing the best amongst these one billion, why do we not gain good number of medals?

Actually the team we send to the international athletics and the games is the team formed out of high class people of the cities, who are able to influence the politicians and the organizers. There are rare cases, the talents from the poor village are recognized and has been chosen. But most of the selections happen out of high class society. Village people and the poor people even do not get the expert coaching and the opportunity of practices.

Basically in villages we can find much potential sportsmen. But they lack the guidance as to how to make use of such potentials in them. Their participations is just limited to the local tournaments. Even they are not at the reach of the nutritious food to be taken by the sportsmen.

So, if India has to grab good number of medals at international games, we need to find the talents from across the country, even from the low and middle class people, even from the villages and from the remote places. The sports committees should give the encouragement of village talents to grow up and the opportunities should be granted to them to show their talents in the international level games.

So the government, Medias and the NGOs should work towards making the participation of talents across the length and width of the country, in the sports events.
