Ask any Indian student what is their plan for future studies, you will find that most of their answers come up to what can be made up into,'To get a degree in prestigious western universities'. This is, of course, a good thing because it shows the student knows clearly what he wants to do. But this does not not stop me from wondering what is wrong with Indian universities and what is so special about foreign universities. Every year, thousands of students migrated to the West or even South-East Asia for their further studies. Majority of the student who ares still studying in India hope for their own luck to migrate in the coming years. It is understandable when the destination university is as popular as The Harvard or The LSE. But what about the handful others which one never heard of or one which does not have much good reputation to talk about. Moreover, I wonder if one ever think about the expenditure involved and how much more money would be circulated in India if one opt for home university than a mere university just because it's a foreign one. One may argue that foreign university gained the students more, but didn't India have good universities? If Indian universities are not that popular, then, how come they get hundreds of western or foreign students every year? What about those foreign universities who choose India for their exchange program? It is very possible that Indians might be so affected by Westernization, which not only cost lost of traditional values but the love for what is Theirs,Their own. We are not arguing that it is void of positive outcomes but what would India gained if most of their assets for the future attached themselves so much to the foreign land?
