In todays world of where we tend to jam pack our apartment/home with all sort of gadgets and other nice to have stuff, we often land up in leaving our interiors messy, crowded and in a complete chaos, mostly because we really lack time in our busy lives. Unlike girls who are relatively better organized, we bachelor boys are not always that way.

At the same time we all want our house interiors to look presentable and attractive, not only we will feel good about ourself but other people also get a good impression about us. Just imagine, if you share a friendly relationship with your boss and one fine day he suddenly drops in to your place and sees your cluttered home you both will be equally bewildered. Or imagine you are on a date and your girl friend decides to stop by your place for a quick cup of coffee .. all your neat and glamorous impression will go for a toss if she sees the mismanagement in your home.

Following are some useful tips to improve interiors the enhance the look and feel of your apartment

- Smaller rooms should be painted in white, ivory, beige or similar shades of lighter hues to make them look bigger. On the other hand, darker colours make a room look smaller.

- Put a long vase or lamp to occupy a vacant corner. This will not only look stylish but that corner will not look empty anymore.

- Cover old trunks or big boxes with smart table cloths and use them as coffee tables.

- If you have any old lanterns, drain off the kerosene, remove the wick and place tea lights inside them to make them an excellent work of modern art. You may even apply a coating of spray paint to match up with your surroundings.

- Unused utensils with handles on both sides can be hang from roof with smart strings, and used to grow hanging plants or flowers in your patio or verandah.

- If you have placed some plants in your drawing room or lobby, cover the base with colored pebbles to make them more attractive.

- If you have some pine cones, dip them in silver, golden and red color and use them for decoration.

- Put dark and multicolored cushions on a light bedsheet (or sofa) and light ones against the dark.

- Old and leaking buckets can be painted and used to plant flowers outside your house.

- Making a simple flower or a geometrical design in running hand on a simple white candle makes it more attractive. You may even tie a bow out of an old rakhi or a ribbon.

- Hollow coconut shells can be colored and used to serve biscuits, nuts etc

- Hollow rind (shell) of an orange or lemon can be dried and filled with wax from old candles to make smart, new candles.

- Old pieces of sheets with nice prints can be framed and hung as beautiful sceneries.
