Research polls shows that people today are turn out to be more health centered. As a result, people are becoming more concerned in making fitness exercise an integral part of their life-style. This article will introduce you to the importance of physical fitness. Everyday activities, even for the laborer, no longer sufficiently stimulate the heart, lungs, and muscles to create physiological benefits. Society, particularly the corporate world, is beginning to appreciate the importance of health promotion and the role of exercise in developing and sustaining good health habits.

Being physically fit connotes living at your fullest physical potential. Physical fitness is the capacity of the heart, blood vessels, lungs, and muscles to function at optimal efficiency. It gives a basis for living a full and satisfying life style. The essential health components of physical fitness are cardio-respiratory endurance, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. To be physically fit requires effort, but exercise does not have to be punishing to help you develop and maintain physical fitness. Regular and vigorous exercise of the total body is an essential ingredient of muscular and circulatory fitness - the key to good health and well being. Lack of exercise is starts to show its consequence. An increase of body fatness, a loss of muscle tone, and a poor breathing capacity are some of the evident signs of physiological deterioration.

Now that inactivity has been known as a danger to physiological well being, some authorities have suggested that exercise may be the cheapest preventative medicine in the world. Researchers in medicine, nutrition, psychology, physiology, and physical education agree that exercise, properly executed, is essential for sustaining functional physical fitness. No responsible health educator will ever suggest that exercise is a universal remedy. But it is obvious that, just as we need food, rest and sleep, we need daily exercise for the maintenance of our physical capacities. Physical fitness is not an end in itself but a way to an end. It offers the basis for optimal physiological health and provides us the ability to enjoy a full life. You must make use of energy to gain energy. In other words, normal stimulation of the total body through vigorous exercise give off increased strength and endurance, characteristics associated with good health.
