There are many times when we have wondered about an acquaintance who we have not had contact with for a long time. We wonder if the person is alive or dead. We do not have the will to directly ask the relatives of the person or to ask the family. This is because we do not want to be embarrassed to know that we have been so ignorant of the person.

The other reason why we hesitate to ask the same question is that we do not want to hurt the person by making indiscreet questions about the life of the person, lest the person is alive and our enquiries reach the ears of the person. The other reasons we do not want to ask questions is that if the person is dead, we do not want to hurt the family by making them know that we have not kept track of the persons life.

If we really want to know if the person is alive in spite of all these difficulties, there are a few methods in which we can learn if the person is alive or dead. This article lists the methods of knowing about the person.

1. Ask mutual acquaintance:

The simplest method to be able to learn about the person is to ask a mutual acquaintance. This will ensure that the person will not go back and tell the family that you have been asking questions and at the same time, you will get an answer for your questions.

2. Use an internet search:

With many social web sites becoming alive, t is a good probability that the person is a part of one of these social web sites or at least was a part of the social websites. This will make you to search to see if the person is active in these sites and this will make you learn that the person is alive. The persons name can be searched on the search engines because many a time, deaths are advertised in newspapers and these are all visible when an Internet search is done. This is another method of finding out if the person is alive.

3. Search in city records:

Another simple method of learning if the person is alive is to search the records of the registers on the city records to learn if the person has been entered in the dead peoples list. This will help you to learn if the person is alive, if you are sure that the person is living in the same city.

4. Phone books:

Another simple method of learning if the person is alive is to search in the phone directories to see if the persons name is listed. Once you learn if the persons name is listed, then you can call to the number and without identifying yourself, ask about the person whom you are searching.

These are the various methods of learning if a person is alive or dead without making the person know that we are searching for information about the person.
