Life has become hectic for every city dweller. Almost all people take time off from their work and go on a holiday. Holidays are usually spent on a seaside resort or a hilly retreat. These areas are usually kept clean and are protected by the governments. Holiday goers can play their part in keeping the environment clean by having an environment friendly holiday.

These days everyone is so conscious of the environment, so the holiday goers can have an environment friendly holiday by following certain ideas. This article talks about the ways in which you can modify your holiday to make it more environment friendly.

1. Avoid Plastic bags: Plastic bags are non-biodegradable. They do not degrade without leaving any toxic material. Even burning them causes fumes that pollute the atmosphere and also release toxic fumes. This is the main reason for environmentalists asking the public to avoid using plastic bags.

2. Batteries: When on a holiday almost all of us take some sort of torch or light with us. It is better to use these with re chargeable batteries in them. Using non-rechargeable batteries increase the toxic waste. The best option would be to take a rechargeable lantern along on a holiday.

3. Soap and other stuff: Recently, there has been an increase in the number of soaps that are eco-friendly. These soaps are fully biodegradable and leave no toxic chemicals behind. This will help to keep the environment clean

4. Transport: While going on a holiday, if you take a public transport like a bus or train, it saves a lot of energy and also it helps save fuel. Not only this, it also helps you to go on a tour that is eco friendly.

5. Food: The food that you eat can be organic in nature. This is also good for the health. It helps you to have a healthy holiday. Organic foods do not use any chemicals in their growth. Only natural manure is given as fertilizer. No artificial fertilizers are used. This decreases the chance of any toxic substances being eaten.

6. Stay: Many lodges are now eco friendly. They use only natural resources and have decreased the use of non-biodegradable materials. These places will be the best thing that a holidaymaker can wish for.

Following these ideas will ensure that you have a safe, healthy and an ideal holiday. It will also keep the environment clean. It will also help you to enjoy and savor the holiday.
