How to get the job you are striving for? Ideas to ace the interviewBY: David Prakash Kumar | Category: Self Improvement | Post Date: 2009-06-15
Recession and job losses are words that have become very common. In the current global scenario, the number of people losing their jobs have become more than the number of people getting jobs. Every company is trying to down size its workforce. In this situation, how can you try to get a job? Are there any simple things that can make you ace the interview? What can you do to make sure that the employer will select you for a post in the company? Here are a few helpful things to remember when you are on a hunt for a job and have identified a potential employer. Following these tips will help you to be at an advantage compared to those around you competing for the same position in the company. Ideas to ace the job interview: 1. Get your C V spruced up: Your CV is the first thing about you that the employer is noticing. So that should make the best impression. Try to leave out all the unwanted information. Make it short and crisp with all the relevant information presented neatly and well organized. 2. Dress for the interview: If the employer is impressed with your CV, he will probably call you for the interview. When you are dressing up for the interview, make sure that you wear pleasant colors. Do not wear very bright colors. It is always better to wear a light colored shirt with a tie and dark trousers. 3. Research about the work of the company: Do some background research about the history of the company and the work it does. This will not only help you get acquainted with the type of work you need to do, it will help you answer any work related questions that you may be asked. You can also ask any doubts you have regarding the work. 4. Be organized : Any interview is conducted with a presentation made by you of your achievements. You may also need to talk about your objectives and how you would work in the company. It would be best if you have organized a presentation as best as you can and also have it checked by others in your family to make sure that it is good. The other aspects you should remember when you attend an interview is: When you handshake, have a firm grip. Try not to be over enthusiastic or laid back. Be truthful (in the compensation you expect and other things). Be cheerful When you follow these things, you are sure to ace the interview and get the dream job you had always wanted.
