Why we are courteous and display perfect manners to strangers but when it comes to our loved ones we don't display the same politeness - for e.g - with a stranger or a co-worker we use the expression ‘Please', ‘Excuse Me', ‘Sorry', ‘Thank You' all the time, and also don't seem to get irritated as often, but at home with our loved ones we behave the differently. And I know we are not supposed to behave the same with everyone but we do tend to get irritated often with our loved ones.

Why do we lean towards this kind of behavioral mode? Is it because we have a tendency to take them for granted and no longer need to prove ourselves to them? But on the other hand we are courteous to strangers because we need to send in an impression of a well-mannered person or perhaps need their approval? but let's reflect if we really are well mannered? - If we were, would we not be the same and display the same mannerism and courtesy to everyone? Well this question should be an eye opener to all of us.

Maybe we all can learn to show more courteous behavior at home and make it a part of our life so that we don't fake our characteristics of being a polite person. If we die our Company/Business will move on.. and it would not make any difference to the world out there or to the strangers that we were nice to, but to our loved ones it will make a huge difference. Love and Kindness always makes an impact - it benefits us by replacing within ourselves the hateful, fearful and angry thoughts and can also create a harmonious relationship.

Sometimes we are not kind or thankful, simply because we feel that we are entitled to what we get. Rarely are we grateful to our spouses or our kids/loved ones for doing day to day chores, or even doing something extra for us, because we think, it's not a big deal but sometimes when the extras fall off below our norms or dwindle down for some reason then we suddenly get resentful. Could the reason for our resentment be that we were never thankful for the kindness that was bestowed upon us in the first place? Should we not learn to be kind, courteous and loving all the time with everyone? Let's ponder on this one and see how we can make a difference within ourselves and to the people who love us.
