All parents want a happy child and often wonder how to keep a child happy. Happiness is the key to success, a happy child is definitely a healthier child who eventually will turn out to be more successful than an unhappy child. A lot depends upon the upbringing of a child, therefore, it is very important for the parents to give their child all their attention right from the start. It is said that too much of love can spoil the child but some doctors believe that up to the age of 2 to 3 no amount of love can spoil a child. The child is too little at that age to get spoilt, all that is needed by that child is love. By giving him all the attention and love, parents help him to become a more secure and confident child. Always tell your child how much you love him/her by playing, smiling, hugging and paying immediate attention to the needs of the child.

A lot of parents want their children to develop the habit of sleeping on their own and so they fix a time and then just leave the child in the room to sleep even if the child is crying. According to some it is necessary to do so in order for the child to have a schedule and to be disciplined, but according to me it only makes the child feel insecure, lonely and unloved. On the other hand if the parents try to put the child to sleep by comforting him/her by rocking the baby in the arms or singing a song etc. then the child will feel more comfortable and loved. It is this comfort and love that will make him a more confident and happy child in the years to come.

I'm not saying that their should be no rules set in order to keep a child happy, parents have to set down some limits, but at the same time it is very important to give them an alternative that will keep them happy aswell. For example, if your child doesn't want to eat green vegetables, then do not force him to eat them, just look for a ways where you are able to secretly put some green vegetables into their favorite recipes. This way the child will be happy to get his favorite recipe and you will also be satisfied since their will be veggies in it. Parenting can be a very tough job but you need to be smart about it. It is very important to give your child immediate attention if he/she needs you, that way the child will know that there is someone to listen to him or her and this will build a feeling of security in him/her leading to be a more happy child. We've often seen that children of parents that have been separated or keep fighting amongst themselves are often unhappy and do not grow into confident adults, this is so because they don't get enough attention and love. For a child to bloom beautifully he/she needs a happy and loving environment to grow which only the parents can provide them.
