Maid referral service

( This work from home article has been written keeping in mind the individuals from western/developed countries like United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France etc.)

This is not a new business in fact with more and more people living single these days, the demand for house hold maids has actually been rising very steadily. This idea is also propelled because of a rising percentage of working couples that need a helping hand with their daily household chores. This is not a total work from home concept since it does involve meeting the (maid) candidates and interviewing them. Since the maids will be going when the clients are mostly not at home, the maid referral service has to be very careful about the honesty and reliability of these maids. At the same time you have to take appropriate steps to ensure that the maids you employ are safe at the client's place. For this reason you may decide to get some legal paperwork done from both the parties, in extreme cases even a background check is a good idea since, it all pays back in the long term. Good reputation is the key in this work from home business.

WHY WOULD ANYONE PREFER TO HIRE A MAID FROM REFERRAL SERVICE AND EVEN PAY MORE:
People do not have time to look out for maid themselves. They would rather prefer an agency that can provide maids as the need arises. If they are not happy with the services of one maid they may ask for a replacement. The agencies are generally expected to take some responsibility of the honesty and quality of service. Most individuals would not mind paying a bit extra for a service which offers them reliability and trust. You can generally expect to keep 25% or more of the total billing of your clients. Maids are like private contractors which are usually paid hourly and in most cases there are no additional benefits given(like health insurance, paid leaves).

WHAT WILL A MAID DO:
A working maid may do several things for you like cleaning utensils (may be in a dishwasher). Arrange clothes and do some general household cleanup. Usually the maids will go to the clients place weekly but it all depends on the requirement.

HOW DO I RECRUIT MAIDS:
Although initially you may have to take out advertisements in local newspapers, your local community center, may be evev online on sites like craigslist and grocery stores where low income families visit. But later you want to hire more staff based on referrals and lesser on open advertisements. More maids you are able to recruit and place, more you will earn from this business.

HOW DO I FIND CLIENTS:
Same thing, newspapers, craigslist, Gyms, health clubs, referrals etc.

It is a good idea to do yearly reviews of maids and increase their income based on the review of your clients.

This article was written to give an idea of this business, the actual circumstances of doing business may differ from place to place. Therefore it is important that you should do your own research and take into consideration all other factors which have not been covered here.
