Globalization has brought a drastic change in the lifestyle of people. In olden days to send a message, a letter had to go through the so called mail agents who use to walk from one place to another or take in the vehicles (like bullock carts).

Later came the system of postal delivery of letter. Whatever is the urgency of communication, it had to be written and people had to walk to the post offices which again were not established everywhere. The sender had to buy the stamps and he had to post it to the postal boxes. Hopefully in a week or two the letter used to reach the other end (receiver). There were no acknowledgments about whether the letter has been successfully sent or not. Only if the person at the other end replies to your letter, that ensured that the letter was been reached.

Then came the system of local land line phones and facility of trunk booking to make out of station calls. A person had to call to the telephone service providers at his locality and the telephone officials had to establish the line between the person at his location and the person at the other location. Depending on the availability of limited number telephone lines, the line could be established for an out of station call. Customers had pay high charges for such calls.

But today, the system of web-cam enables voice chatting, a person can instantly communicate to the person even if he is another continent. The well established system of hi-tech communication enables interaction to a level as if a person would speak to another person face to face. Thinking from where we started and where we are not, it looks like a virtual reality. What a change? Thanks to globalization.
