People generally practice fasting, just to follow the words of their religion. Infact, fasting is a healthy practice. Most people do not know that it makes them to equip with good health and fitness. It has been proven by the medical science that the well practiced and sensible fasting can be a solution for many health problems. Especially some of the problems related to digestion can be cured by fasting. Fasting should always be done very carefully, may be sometimes after have a word with your doctor.

Muslims have the practice of holding fast from the time before sunrise till the sunset. The practice goes for a month. That is called as a month of Ramzan. During the day time, not even a drop of water can be taken. So it gives a perfect break to the digestion organs. Human body can still maintain the power to do the things; when one do not eat food for a day. So, generally there no risk of losing the strength by fasting. One has to simply take more rest during the fasting time.

Even in Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism and Jainism, fasting has been practiced. They practice fasting on special days is common in many other religions worldwide especially on no moon day or on full moon day. Religions even advise the followers to hold fasting on days when happens to be any deviation is the nature of solar system. These practices have often been proved healthy, because there is possibility of unhealthy rays entering into the environment of the earth on such times. So it is advisable not to consider those practices as a blind believer, but still following them in a sensible manner is perfectly acceptable in most cases. Even in psychological way, fasting makes one to control the emotions and temper. So fasting has been solution to manage the stress and strain as well. It also helps us understand the importance of food which we otherwise take for granted.
