Emotional Fitness: How to be happy at workBY: David Prakash Kumar | Category: Self Improvement | Post Date: 2009-07-05
We hear a lot everyday about physical fitness and how to be fit. We have programs for getting fit, but we never hear anything about emotional fitness. There are people who have emotional problems always. Every person on this earth have many problems that cause emotional outbursts or emotional suppression. So how can a person be emotionally fit? How does it help us to be happy at least at most of the time? Here are a few things that will keep us emotionally fit in our workplace. I have concentrated on the workplace because that is the place where people have a lot of problems in coping and become emotionally vulnerable. 1. Happy in the workplace: If you are unhappy with your work and think that the job is not fit for you, then remember that the job will not fit for your happiness, but you have to make your work fit for you and be happy. So love the work that you do and all the other things that you do. This will make you get into a positive frame of mind and keep you happy always. 2. Complete immersion in your work: Do not do your work superficially. This is the problem with many people. They do not really concentrate on the work. They keep thinking of other personal things and finally do not feel satisfied with the job. So when you are totally immersed in whatever you do, then it will help you to love the job that you are doing. This will prevent you from being emotionally unfit; instead you will learn to be happy at all times. 3. Meditation / Yoga : These are very important things that will help you to be emotionally fit and also give you a sense of happiness. H\Join a Yoga center or learn meditation and do at home. It helps you to concentrate more and brings out your inner energy and keeps you happy and emotionally fit. 4. Recreation: Recreation is very important for a person to be happy. It not only keeps a person relaxed, but also keeps the persons mind from being overworked. It helps bring some order and peace to ones life. It also helps to break the routine of work and brings some joy. It will lead to a feeling of satisfaction. This will help the person have a sense of control on his life. This will lead to emotional stability and happiness. These are the easy, simple and effective methods of keeping emotionally fit and at the same time being happy with the work at your workplace, however difficult it might seem.
