Donation of blood and organsBY: Muhammed Haris | Category: Others | Post Date: 2009-07-12
Donation of blood and organs is great practice in consideration of humanity. The blood and the human cannot be manufactured anywhere. Only way to store the blood to the needy is to collect from the healthy donors of blood. Healthy human body has the feature of restoring the blood quantity when it reduced by donation or when blood has been lost by getting wound. So there is no harm in donating blood. Blood donation has been considered as necessary for the men. Women have the nature gifted system of menstruation, by which they can release the excess content on the blood. But for the men there is no such natural way. So, only way to dispose the excess content in the blood is to donate the blood. There are many Non-Government Organizations which are encouraging the people to donate the blood, by arranging the blood donation camps and conducting seminars on it. But there is no appreciable co-ordination from the public for such initiatives. There can even be donation of organs on a person's death. If the organs can be separated and protected within the specified number of hours, they can be used for planting the organs to the needy people. Donating the eyes would bring light to life of one person. The happiness of the person who gets back the sight of his eyes is just cannot be expressed. Such donations will always be remembered. There are many NGOs who allow the donors to register themselves to donate their organs on death. I could read a news about LK Advani, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India, had registered himself to donate the skin on his death. These like initiatives have to be encouraged and should be wide publicity to make others also to follow such ideal things.
