Data warehousing has been used as a method to organize data but also to save the information from the huge data loss unforeseen accidents like natural calamities, bomb blasts, mass data corruption etc. Many Multi-National companies use the data warehousing system to save their important data from any such causes. The economy has to continue to grow even when there is a natural calamity or any other disaster. So it is very important that all useful data should be backed up in the data warehouses, checked, established and maintained at the safe places. Many Multi-National companies based on US and European countries have data warehouses established and maintained in India. The super fast internet lines enable all the data to be backed up at the data warehouses almost instantly. Many companies have the practice of taking the back up daily and transforming it to these data warehouses. Some companies have the system of hourly back up or even the instant back up. This decision is based on the quantity of the information getting saved to the primary storage area and based on the importance and sensitivity of the data, the way data in which the back up system has been arranged. Conversion of data into encrypted form while storing in the data warehouses enables the safety of the data. It avoids any possible misuse of data. This data which is stored in the encrypted form and can be used only once it is decrypted by using the security password and a pre-determined decoding algorithm. It enables only the authorized people to use the data. So, even the small and medium scale industries should use the data warehousing system to safeguard their data.
