Corporate skills play a major role in the career growth of any professional. Climbing the corporate ladder does not just depend on the tenure of service. The personality factor, team play, the rapport maintained internally and externally, Communication skills, the disciple factor, dedication, leadership skills, creativity and self initiatives, all play a major role in boosting your corporate skills. There are many more corporate skills which play a major role in the career growth and climbing the corporate ladder. If a person does not develop these skills, his performance only in terms of productivity and quality cannot bring the desired career growth. A person needs to market himself during his entire career. Along with contributing towards the growth of an organization, an individual has to grab the opportunity for his own career growth. The contributions towards the growth of an organization and the individual himself are inter-related factors. When there is a positive growth in an organization, the main thing considered by the management team is all about the individual contributions. So the person who not only played a major role in the contribution but also markets himself well. This would help him gain the most and help progress faster towards career growth. One should not limit his role to his KRA (Key Responsibility Areas) but should also equip himself with all the possible corporate skills so that he can show his performance in all the areas. Leadership quality can be played with the self initiative just at the designation of an associate. One need not necessarily be a leader to play the role of the leader. The leadership initiative and potential shown at lower level designation would make oneself grow as a successful leader to a higher designation. At the every step of career growth, the performance shown at each step of his corporate ladder would be considered. So,one has to keep the performance up in every aspect of his profession.
