Getting a job is very difficult, while losing a job can be very easy. These are hard times where the economy is down and the world is in recession. This has led to millions of jobs being cut from a construction workers job to a high profile Chief Executive Officers job. Any one can lose their job at any point of time. Job security is virtually not present in any company. There can be a few reasons that add to the recession in making people lose their jobs.

The common reasons for people losing their jobs are discussed in this article. The remedy would be to prevent making these common mistakes and hold on to the job.

1. Lack of Efficiency:
This is the most common cause of people losing jobs. If an individual is efficient in the work, then there will be no reason for the organization to remove the worker from the job. The workers have to be productive and make themselves indispensable. This will make the worker become part of the core team in the company. When there is lack of efficiency, then there is a lot of chance for the individual to be removed from the job.

2. Leave: Leave is one of the most important causes of people losing their jobs. There are people who think that taking leave is their right. This is not actually true. When the company or organization is going through a tough time with loss and decreased orders, unexplained leave can be an important motive for the management to fire the worker.

3. Discipline and Time: All workers should be at the workplace on time. If a worker is not reporting to the workplace on time, then this can be one of the most important things that can make the management think that the worker is not committed to the work. This can lead to the worker being fired from the job. Another common reason for people losing their job is indiscipline. This can also lead to a worker being fired.

4. Keep the boss happy: The workers who have a grudge with the management of the company are the first ones the company will fire when there is downsizing of the workforce. This has to be remembered and all the workers who do not want to lose their jobs should keep the boss happy. Efficient working, donning leadership roles, hard wok and discipline in the work are some of the most important things that can keep the management happy. This will make the organization want the worker in its ranks rather than losing the worker.

An individual who does not want to lose the job and start searching for another one in times of recession should be extra careful and always try to make the right moves. This will make the management rethink on firing the worker even if they are down sizing. If a worker does not follow the above, then it is like the worker is asking to be fired from the job.
