Sleep disorder is a very difficult part of life. A person suffering from sleep disorder can have various problems and also complications associated with the lack of sleep. A person with lack of sleep has many reasons for the lack of sleep and this can affect the person in many ways. Sleep is an important aspect of our daily cycle in life and when this is disturbed, the person who has had their sleep affected will go through various problems.

There are various causes for the disorders in the sleep. The disorder can be either due to the physical presence of a disease or it can also be due to some psychological problem.

The various causes of sleep disorders can be:

1. Old age:


As the person gets old, the person may have certain complications that can make the person lose sleep. This is something that is not very easy to treat and so the person is given sleeping tablets to make them sleep.

2. Depression:

This is one of the common causes of sleep disturbances. A person may be stressed which can cause the person to be depressed. This too can cause the person to have sleep disorders. If the person is given anti depressants and also sedatives, then the person will not be having the same problems and will be able to sleep.

3. Obesity:

There are certain researches that have made known that obesity can also cause a person to have loss of sleep. The actual mechanism is not known, but it does seem to have an effect on the sleep of a person.

4. Snoring:

This is one of the common causes of sleep disturbances. The noise created by snoring can cause the person snoring itself to have lack of sleep. The snoring can also disturb the people around to have lack of sleep. This can be rectified by doing a minor surgery in the person who snores and usually, the snoring will decrease.

5. Use of stimulants:

Various substance abuses or even consumption of a stimulant like coffee can reduce the sleep and cause sleep disorders in various people. Stimulants can also be alcohol, though most people consider it to be a sedative. This can be prevented by avoiding consumption of stimulants at least 4 hours before sleeping time.

6. Poor sleeping habits:

There are many people who do not heed the body's rhythm and have poor sleeping habits. They sleep when they like and also wake up when they like. This poor sleeping habit can also cause sleep disorders. Regular sleeping habit will prevent this from becoming a major problem.

These are the major causes of people having sleep problems. The remedies have also been included in this article and this will help those affected by sleeping disorders to identify the cause of their sleep problem and rectify it with the treatment options given. Sleep is very important and if adequate sleep is not available, the person may have various side effects that can be dangerous for the person affected and also all those around.
