A car insurance is very important for the individual to have adequate cover for any damage to the car in the event of any accidents. This type of insurance is called as the collision insurance. This is the common type of insurance that all people know about and are also used to. There are various advantages and disadvantages when one thinks of a collision insurance.

Advantages of a collision insurance:

The main advantage of a collision car insurance is that the car is insured against any damage due to accidents where the car hits against any other vehicle.
This is the most common type of damage that can happen to a car and the car will be insured against this in a collision car insurance. The insurance company will repay the owner of the car all the money for the damage after ascertaining certain facts about the accident.

Another advantage of a collision car insurance is that this type of car insurance is cheaper than the comprehensive car insurance and is also very beneficial to the individual. This is because the individual can pay a little sum which will be enough to cover the insurance.

Collision car insurance since it is more common will be enough for most of the people who drive cars because of the very less risk of them being involved in a collision. In fact if statistics are analyzed, a very less percentage of people ever need collision insurance and the percentage who need comprehensive car insurance is still less. This is the important factor that makes people to opt for collision car insurance only.

Disadvantages of a collision car insurance:

The main disadvantage of a collision car insurance is that this type of car insurance does not cover various other damages to the car.
These damages that are not covered by the collision car insurance are vandalism, damage to the car in a riot, natural disasters, theft and any other cause of damage. The collision car insurance covers only damage to the car in an accident. This is one of the major disadvantages of a collision car insurance.

It is always best to have a car insurance that covers both the damages in an accident and also in any other natural disasters. This is so because when the individual has the insurance against all these factors, then one can sleep peacefully with the knowledge that they will not lose anything even in the event of damage to the car by various means.

These are the various advantages and also the disadvantages of having a collision car insurance for the individuals car. Though collision car insurance is the best for the car as it is the common type of claim that is seen, it is also very important for the individual to have comprehensive car insurance too for the car especially in areas where the car is very prone for damage in incidents other than accidents too. A person who has both comprehensive and collision car insurance will need not worry about any damage to the car.
