Cleveland Cavaliers: THE CAVS REPORTBY: Guest | Category: Sports | Post Date: 2009-12-22
Written by: Geoff Schoonmaker The Cleveland Cavaliers may have started out slow but they have really turned things around, as their record stands at 12-5, which is good for three games ahead of Milwaukee. If the playoffs were today the Cavs would be in fourth place. For your average team fourth place would be an accomplishment, but for a team that came into the season with a modo ‘‘win a ring for the king'' it is unacceptable. But don't worry after a 1-2 start to the year we have showed signs of life. The turn around must be at lest partially credited to coach Mike Brown's increscent of second year player J.J Hickson. Hickson even lead team in minutes in one game against the Jazz. In that game he scored twenty points. J.J. is only the second none rookie to set a career high for points in three consecutive games. Another player who has really stepped up is Mo Williams; I now that he was last year's second leading scorer, but he has shot even better this year than last season. On a Sunday night game against Dallas Mo was seven of seven from beyond the arc. Even LeBron has made improvement this season; he is shooting career highs in three-point % FG% and jump shot %. Even though Delonte West is facing numerous charges, he is still a great defender and a fan favorite. Another thing that the crowd loves is the ale uup, which has been seen frequently with the Cavs two high flyers: LeBron, and Jamario Moon. THE SHAQ REPORT: Shaq has had a so-so year so far, with averages of eleven points and seven rebounds, but Shaq has done what we brought him her to do: defend Dwight Howard and be a physical scoring presence inside. About Z, he is deffintlly on the decline and he failed to even get in to the game against the Mavericks, if he had played he would have set the Cavaliers record for games played. Z has also been incredibly cold for the whole year, hitting on just one shot over a two game period, and frequently missing on his patented elbow jumper of the pick and roll. Against Dallas Anderson Varajoa was actually used as the back up center spelling Shaq when needed to. Well thanks for reading THE CAVS REPORT.
