Chatting rooms on the internet have been the center of entertainment for many people. It has become a medium of gaining more and more friends, through random chat. No doubt that many times, it brings good social networking contacts to the person who really wants to gain friendship with others. It has also been a solution to avoid the loneliness for the people. At the same it has also become a medium of harassments and scams. Even children have the chatting on internet a lot as a hobby, they communicate to unknown people over the chat rooms. They would not know about the person sitting on the other end. Many a times, innocent girls have been the victims of chatting on internet as they are sometimes attracted towards these unknown online people. These girls have often been invited to meet such unknown people, and it has been led to inappropriate behaviour towards them, even molestation and rape in extreme cases. Parents may not be aware about with whom their children are chatting and building the relationship with. Even it happens that people communicate many vulgar words in chat room to tempt the person on the other sides. It is very dangerous to communicate in such a way because one may not know anything about the person sitting at the other end. You do not even know if it's a guy or a girl, a genuine person or a criminal. One cannot rely on the words of the person who is chatting with him. Many times it may just the wrong information he is giving about him, to gain the rapport. So the people should be very cautious while chatting. They should not agree to meet the person personally, unless they know him better. Before meeting, always tell a friend about them or tell them to accompany with you. Never meet in an isolated place. Only if the hobby of chatting on internet done with utmost care and cautiousness, that would serve as a good tool of social networking.
