Dizziness is a common problem that affects many people. People get dizzy at various points of time in their life. This is because there are some abnormalities in the body of the person. The dizziness itself cannot be considered as a disease because the person who gets dizzy may have some minor aberration. At the same time it should be understood that the dizziness could also be a pointer to a major disease, especially of the nervous system.

Causes of dizziness:

Thee are various causes of dizziness. Some of these causes are very minor in nature and others are very complicated.

1. Lack of food:
When a person does not eat enough or when the person is fasting, then the individual may have a spell of dizziness. This is because when the sugar levels decrease, the person goes into a state of hypoglycemia. This means that the sugar levels are very low. Adequate intake of food will prevent a person from getting dizzy with his kind of problem.

2. Low blood pressure: Any decrease in the blood pressure of an individual is also a likely cause for a person becoming dizzy. This is because the person who is having low blood pressure may not have adequate blood supply in all parts of the body and especially to the brain and this can cause dizziness. Getting up slowly from bed to standing position will prevent sudden drop in blood pressure.

3. Old age: Old age as such may not be a cause for the dizziness, but when a person becomes old, they are more likely to have various causes of dizziness because of many health problems. This is another reason for dizziness. Old people eat less and may have health problems including lesions in the brain and this can cause dizziness.

4. Vertigo: Vertigo is another common problem where the individual can have dizzy spells. This is a problem tat can occur ion people of any age group. These people should be careful in what they do as they might have dizzy spells anytime.

5. High blood pressure: Just like the low blood pressure, high blood pressure can also cause dizzy spells. This is because when a person who has high blood pressure strains themselves they can get some alteration in the blood supply that will cause the dizziness.

6. The heat conditions: When the temperature of a place or the climate is very warm or hot, then it too can cause the person to feel dizzy. This is a simple thing that has no lasting effects and can be controlled by avoiding exposure to the warm or hot climate.

These are the various aspects of the dizziness that is caused. There are also various other causes of dizziness like heart problems in a patient. This is because when a person has heart problems, the individual can have sudden fainting or even dizzy spells. The treatment of the dizziness usually depends on the cause of the dizziness and can be reduced adequately by controlling the cause using medications.
