Causes, signs and treatment of anxiety: Reaons why we get anxious

Anxiety is a problem seen in many people these days. The reason for the increase in the number of people with anxiety is many. The most common reason is the increased work pressure that has to be faced by the people working. Working for long hours have also increased the stress levels of people and along with the stress, the anxiety levels also increase.

There are actually various causes for a person becoming very anxious. They are:

1. Worry:

People worry about many things. Some of the common things about which people worry about are the health of their relatives or themselves. People also worry about their financial troubles and also about their investments. These are the common worries that people have and it gives a lot of anxiety to a person. In fact many people use worry as a synonym for anxiety, though they are different in their meaning.

2. Insecurity:

There are many people around us who are very insecure. This insecurity in these people causes them to have a lot of fear about many things. People feel insecure about their relationships with others. They may also feel insecure because they might lose their jobs. Insecurity can also be because of financial dealings. The insecurity causes a person to have anxiety.

3. Health:

In these days of changed lifestyles, many more people are anxious about their own health and also the health of their dear ones. This is a major cause of anxiety. When people get sick, the whole life of the person changes and this causes an increased anxiety levels in those near the sick people and also the sick people.

Signs of anxiety:

There are various signs of anxiety in those with this problem. They are:

1. Sweating:

The stress and the anxiety together cause increased sweating in the people who suffer from this problem. The people may have the sweating because of the autonomic system of the person working more.

2. Palpitations:

This is another common sign that can be seen in people who have anxiety. The anxiety in the person may cause the increase in the heart rate of a person. The increased heart rate is seen as palpitation in those who suffer from anxiety problems.

3. Head ache:

Some people who get stressed out and are very anxious at all times may even get head ache because of the prolonged period of stress. This can be relieved by relaxing.

4. Blood pressure:
Many people who have anxiety as a chronic problem suffer from increased blood pressure. This can cause various systemic disorders in them too.

Treatment of anxiety:

1. Relaxation:

The person who us suffering from anxiety should have some relaxation taught to them. They should learn exercises like deep breathing that will help them to relax. Other methods of relaxing include learning the various positions of relaxation where the muscles will relax.

2. Meditation:

Meditation is another important method of decreasing the anxiety levels. There are meditation centers and even learning Yoga will help the individual to relax and decrease the anxiety.

3. Medications:

There are various drugs that decrease the stress and anxiety levels of those affected by this problem.
