British Royalty supports injured soldiers.

A collection of Giclee prints featuring the Royal Family. By John Allsopp

Four paintings featuring Princess Diana, The Queen Mum, Prince William and Queen Elizabeth, are helping British Soldiers back to health.

A donation from the sale of each Giclee print will be made to the Army benevolent fund that supports the rehabilitation of injured troops returning home from the conflict in Afghanistan. The nation has a large dept to repay these gallant souls and I thought it only right to help with their recovery which is quite expensive.

When you sit and think for a while you remember that soldiers adhere to a contract to serve Queen and country, and some times this contract has to be paid in the most precious currency known to man, his own life.

Each painting in the collection is a result of many hours of patience and research, patience to build up from numerous press cuttings and magazine articles a profile of the person to be captured in oil, patience to sit and sketch initial compositions which will form the basis of the finished work.

Giclee printing was chosen because of its unique ability to recreate the look of original oil on canvas painting. Hahnemuhle 310 gsm paper was chosen for its soft fibrous feel. Specially designed pigmented inks were used throughout the printing process for the high standard of light fastness which assures the collector that they will look like new for many years to come.
