The Black Hat Search Engine optimization is one of the methods used by unscrupulous people to use methods that are not really ethical to make a site search engine optimized. These methods are not usually used in sites because if the search engines identify the unethical methods, then they make sure that the site is not included in any search again. This is the reason for most people not using these techniques to make their sites search engine optimized.

There are various techniques that are used by people to make their sites optimized for the search engines to return their sites high up in a search with good page ranks. These include using keywords in good content to make sure that the search engines select that particular site. This has made people to use Black Hat techniques to make a site to be search engine optimized.

The various techniques usually used in the Black Hat search engine optimization are keyword fluffing where a lot of keywords are used on a webpage with less of original content. Hidden texts are also used where the text color and the color on the page of the web are the same. This makes the search engine to recognize the text, but the user who actually opened the page is not able to look at the text. There are other methods too that are used to increase the search engine optimization.

The various long term effects of using Black hat techniques for search engine optimization are:

1. Search engine ignores the site:

When the Black Hat Search Engine optimization is identified, then the search engine never again uses the site as part of the search. This makes the site go waste and will have no traffic after the initial time when there was an increase in the traffic. This has made people realize their folly for using the Black Hat Search Engine optimization, but it is usually too late and they have to start another site from scratch.

2. Decreased traffic:

There is an initial spurt in the traffic to the site. This is because the search engine has not yet identified the various Black Hat Search Engine optimization techniques that have been used. Once these have been identified and the search engine does not use the site, the traffic to the site dips very sharply and in fact the traffic can completely run out in some sites. This makes the whole site to go waste. The time and effort spent on all the Black Hat Search Engine optimization goes waste.

3. Lack of income for the site:

The site that was earning a lot of money through various means because of the increased traffic, suddenly has a very low income because of the decrease in traffic. This makes the viability of the site itself to be lost. This is the reason for many people who had resorted to false methods of optimizing their site losing out in the long run and realizing their mistake, but then by that time, it is too late to do anything.
