Learning more and more languages help one to have a better position in the society. A Bilingual skill enables one to communicate with more and more people. Many times people are not able to communicate just because they do not know a common language to speak. Speaking to a person in his own mother tongue, would make him very friendly. Obviously people like speaking in their own mother tongue.
Just by carefully listening to other languages and trying to speak a few words in that language can gradually make one to learn those languages. There are many words in common in several languages all around the nation. So when a person learns few languages it is easier to learn the related languages.
In India, Sanskrit is the base for all the languages. From Sanskrit, the popular languages like Hindi and Tamil have been derived. North Indian languages like Punjabi, Oriya, Bengali, Manipuri etc are derived from Hindi. South Indian languages like Kannda, Malayalam, Telugu etc are the derivations from Tamil. So, the languages which are derived from a common language have similarity on them. If one can get the track of such similarities, then they can manage with all those languages with just a little practice. Bilingual skill is a great tool to have. Importance of speaking multiple languages are enormous.
Even learning the accent of a language is an important thing. By default a person applies the accent of his mother tongue, while speaking in any language. But it sounds odd, when a language has been spoken with the accent of another language. So, one has to practice the accent of the language, along with learning that language. Only then people would respect him while speaking that language.
So learn multiple languages, be Bilingual !!
