We love our children so much that we keep purchasing many toys for them. They may also get toys from our relatives and friends. But are these toys safe enough for our children to play with? Can you leave the child alone with some toys to play and not fear any injury? These are some of the questions upper most in the minds of every parent.

But it is the parents who buy most of the toys for their children. They are the ones who decide which toys are safe for the kids and which are not safe. Though certain countries have certain rules on the production of toys, they are not always adhered to. Sub standard toys regularly flood the market. This makes the parents concern more real.

Here are a few tips for you to help select the toys with which your child plays. You can make sure your kids are safe by following these ideas.

1. No sharp edges: Make sure that the toys do not have any sharp edges. This will prevent all cut and piercing injuries.

2. No small parts: Every child has the inborn habit of putting things in their mouths. So the most important thing would be to make sure that there are no small parts that are present in the toys which can be swallowed.

3. No paints: Make sure that there is no pain peeling off the toys. The main reason this is important because the chemicals from which the paint is made off may be toxic. Good toys make use of chemicals that do not harm the kids much even if ingested by mistake.

4. Non breakable toys: Make sure the toys are sturdy. Most toys that can break with minimal force are not good for kids. The toys should have come from a good company that has tested for such things.

5. Allergens: Most children play with stuffed toys some time in their lives. It is better to purchase a toy that does not shed the outer cover. Also these stuffed toys should be washable. This is because some of these toys can cause allergy.

These are some of the important considerations when you purchase a toy. Most good companies produce good toys. Most of the cheap toys that flood the market have to pass the above tests. It is always better to be safer than sorry later.

Make sure you purchase toys from a decent shop which has a good reputation. These shops are most likely to sell toys that are good for your child.
