WHERE DID THIS 'ANXIETY' COME FROM?
Anxiety is a behavior which is deep rooted in humans. Little bit of anxiety can actually be good for us. A controlled level of anxiety helps us to be more alert during unusual situations and sometimes prepares us to deal with surprises. Anxiety of a person can help him solve complex puzzles, mathematical & scientific problems and face challenging tasks.
ANXIETY DISORDER IN MODERN TIMES:
Unfortunately, in these modern times where we humans are competing with each other so fiercely to earn more money, rise in career and to gain attention that our anxiety never seems to end. We are always curious about our investments, result of an exam, complex relationships, productivity, performance and this list never seems to end.
SOME SYMPTOMS OF ANXIETY DISORDER MAY BE:
* You are worried almost all the time.
* Lack of concentration.
* Periodic headaches.
* Forgetfulness and lack of concentration.
* Emotional crisis.
* Thinking too much about past or future.
HEALTH PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH ANXIETY ATTACKS:
A continuous anxiety can lead to may health problems like depression, high blood pressure, heart attacks, anxiety disorder, emotional distress, stress, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger, agitation and more. These days Psychiatrists deal more and more with people suffering from the anxiety disorder and depression, a number never seen before. To control anxiety disorder many people require regular medication. If your anxiety attacks are getting out of hand then consult a doctor immediately. If you feel that your level of anxiety is still not quite aggravated, then try these to overcome anxiety before it gets worse.
HOW TO OVERCOME ANXIETY DISORDER NATURALLY:
1. STOP WORRYING ABOUT LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE:
A majority of people worry about small things in life. It may be a few percent points up or down in stock market, their relationship with others, their looks, their future, if they will be able to impress others or even if they will be able to finish work on time. Take it easy folks, your life and peace of mind is much more important that anything else. Remember that old saying, "Health is Wealth". More than half of the people who suffer from Anxiety disorder, are worried about things which will anyway not alter their life in any significant manner. Before worrying about a problem, ask yourself if it is really worth that much attention anyway.
2. DO NOT OVER COMPLICATE YOUR LIFE:
Today we want to excel is every god-damn field. We indulge in so many different activities and relationships that we unnecessarily make our life very complicated. Sometimes you have to let go of a few things for the peace of your own mind. If your job is giving you Anxiety attacks then probably its time to change it or take a different role within your project or company. Sometimes couples fight with each other over tiny little things which quickly turns into a huge argument. Learn to manage your life first. In these modern times we tend to over complicate our life, often needlessly.
3. TAKE A DEEP BREATH:
Take a deep breath and then hold it for 5 seconds, then exhale slowly in 7-8 seconds. Repeat this 3-4 times in a row, several times a day. Deep breathing well is a great way to reduce anxiety naturally.
4. LIVE IN TODAY:
We often worry too much about past and future, rather than concentrating at our present. Although a proper planning needs to be done about one's future but overdoing it can only lead to a panic and anxiety. Infact a constant anxiety tends to distort our judgment. Therefore learn to live in Today.
5. GET OUT AND TALK TO PEOPLE:
Isolation can also lead to an increased level of worry. Go out and meet people, make new friends, go to the mall and restaurants. Humans are social beings, take some time off and socialize. Socializing is a good way to treat anxiety naturally.
6. YOGA AND MEDITATION:
Yoga is all about mind and body control. Yoga was born in India and today the power of yoga can be harnessed in any part of the world. Pick up your yellow book and find a few good places where yoga lessons are conducted. I personally prefer a yoga teacher who has several years of experience and can even provide some good referrals. Similarly, meditation is a great relaxing technique ind is usually done in a quite place. If needed, you can be sitting in your parking lot inside your car with windows rolled up and still be able to do a quick meditation session. Learn meditation and yoga to suppress your Panic attacks and Anxiety disorder naturally.
7. LET GO SOME CURRENT AFFAIRS INFORMATION FOR A WHILE:
People who have anxiety disorder can quickly get worried when they read newspapers, listen to radio or watch news on TV, even if that does impact them in any way. Just turn all those things away for a while and try to spend your time in other things or listen some light music. Go to a park, get a dog/pet, play with kids, talk to your wife and girlfriend or simply start a new hobby.
8. SLEEPING WELL:
Take a good 7-9 hours of sleep in a day. Your anxiety attacks may very well be linked to improper mind and body rest. There is no harm in introducing a light afternoon nap of 20 minutes or so. Sleeping well can be a major mental boost for anyone and will help to treat Anxiety in a natural way.
9. DO NOT TREAT YOUR ANXIETY WITH SMOKING AND DRINKING ALCOHOL:
Many people feel relaxed when they have alcohol or nicotine in their body. These things can temporarily relax us but when their effect is diminished, you can be even more aggravated and panic mode. Although many experts say that taking moderate alcohol is good for the body, but using alcohol as a stress suppressant is never recommended. Similarly, limit your amount of caffeine (ex: coffee) intake, substitute a few of them with green tea or herbal tea. Many people say that Green tea helps our brain to relax and a very good way to treat Anxiety naturally.
10. BE HAPPY AND LAUGH:
Laughter releases many hormones which have anti-stress and anti-anxiety powers. Power of laughter has led to 'Morning laughter clubs' all over the world, where people get together in a park and just laugh artificially till the real laughter starts to come out. Laughter is contagious, once you are in a group which laughs a lot, you automatically learn to laugh more often naturally.
11. NATURAL RELAXANTS:
There are many over the counter relaxants like Kawa. Obviously consult your doctor before taking any such medication.
12. DON'T CHEAT OTHERS. DON'T GET INVOLVED IN FRAUDS:
Cheating others can easily give you a high level of stress and anxiety. Sometimes it may be the fear of getting caught or may be just your inner soul cursing for your act.
Exercise is one of the best ways to overcome anxiety disorder naturally. Exercise utilizes your energy in a positive fashion, increases blood flow and gives you more energy throughout the day.
