Digital cameras are being used by almost every photographer today. There are many types of digital cameras from very small ones that can be quite cheap to high technology ones that can be very costly. The digital cameras are used by people to take pictures in almost all occasions. There is very little difference in the method of capturing a picture, between a regular camera and a digital one. Though this is true, there are many advantages of using a digital camera.

There are also a few disadvantages of using a digital camera, but when compared to the advantages of using as digital camera, they are very less.
This article gives a list of all the advantages of using a digital camera.

1. Less expensive in some ways:
Though the camera itself can be costly, the individual who uses the digital camera can use the camera without any film in the camera. The films are quite costly and have to replaced. This is not present in the digital camera and this is one major advantage of using a digital camera.

2. Development time:

The process of development is eliminated when one uses a digital camera. The pictures can be viewed instantly in the LCD or when the camera is connected to a computer, then the pictures can be downloaded on to the computer and it is easy to view the pictures. We live in a n instant world where people always try to save time in each and every activity that they do. So saving the time taken for development is very important.

3. Editing:

It is very difficult to edit or modify a picture taken using the regular camera where the film is used. When using a digital camera, the picture that was taken can be immediately viewed again to either edit or if the photographer is not satisfied, to retake the photo. Even if you need to edit the picture at a later date, it can be done very easily by using various software on the computer and modify the photograph according to your needs. This is another important advantage of using a digital camera.

4. Pictures can be printed at home easily:

Another important advantage of using a digital camera is that the pictures that you take on the digital camera can be easily printed from your computer. In the regular cameras that were used before, though some people tried to develop the pictures at home, it is quite costly and also difficult to get the pictures developed from the films.

5. Use of pictures:
The photos that are taken using a film camera when developed are useful to be kept in the photo albums or frames. The digital photos taken with the digital cameras can be used instantly in any power point presentations or any other methods. This is another important advantage of using the digital camera. The digital pictures can also be sent by e mail and can be easily transferred.

These are the various important advantages of using a digital camera.
