Direct to home television has changed the way we watch television. This is because the television in the years past used to have very few channels on which we could watch programmes. As time went by, cable television changed all that and people had a wide variety of programmes to choose from. Even this became boring at times and there were also times when the person was not able to choose the programme or channel that they wanted to see because they had no control over the programs they could see.

This is where the Direct to home television has a major advantage over all the other types of television transmissions. The Direct to home television is used to give the choice of viewing various channels and the choice rests with the person who is using the Direct to home television network. There are various advantages associated with this and they are:

1. Any channel can be selected:

The person who has a direct to home television network connected to their homes can watch any channel that they like and all they have to do is to make adequate adjustments in their receiver. The person does not need to depend on the cable television provider to provide the channel to the person. This is a very great advantage because the cable Television operator usually has the most popular programmes beamed. This will benefit majority of the population. There will be a small minority who want to watch different channels and this is not covered in the regular cable networks.

2. Cost is less:

The cost of the direct to home television is very less compared to the cable television network. This is because in a cable television network, the people have to pay for all the channels that are beamed on the cable network even if they do not watch certain channels. At the same time, the advantage of Direct to home television is that the person has to only pay for the channels that have purchased. This may be less compared to the regular bill that you pay to your cable television operator.

3. Package according to needs:

Another important advantage of the Direct to home television is that you can purchase only the packages that you need. There are no unnecessary channels that are present in the television. Only channels that are necessary can be purchased by paying a small amount to the company offering the Direct to home television services. This makes it comfortable for the people watching.
4. Simple to operate:

The Direct to home television is also very easy to operate because it does not have any fancy equipment that is difficult to handle. It is very simple and needs only operation of a remote control to get the programs we want to be beamed on the television.

These are the various advantages of Direct to home television and these make it more attractive than various other types of television including cable television that is very popular in certain parts of the world.
