Recession is here to stay for a few more years. When the economy was booming, there were more companies and businesses that started. More people were employed in these companies. With the world deep in recession now, the number of people who are being thrown out of jobs has been on a steady rise. This can lead to many social as well as economic problems both in the society as well as the family.

The role of job portals in this tough time is very important. They help many people to be able to select the right job. It also helps potential employers to identify who would be best suited for their company. There are various other advantages of registering with Internet job portals for job search.

1. Wide coverage: When a person searching for a job registers with the job portal on the Internet, there is a wide coverage that cannot be reached by any other means. People from around the world are able to look at the resume of their potential employee at the click of a mouse on the computer. This has made searching for the right kind of person to work in the company much easier.

2. Searching for a job easy: Searching for a job has also become easy because of the thousands of jobs that are listed in the website. People are given the choice to select the correct kind of job and then apply for that job. It makes the person able to search and apply for a job that is present in any part of the world.

3. Saves Money: Registering for jobs on Internet job portals save money in different ways for the unemployed person who may be searching for a job. The individual does not have to send out resumes and job applications in the post that may be very costly. It also saves money, as the individual does not have to make many copies of the resume. For a person who has already lost a job or is jobless and is searching for a new job, all this money saved will go a long way in helping them to be able to cope with the situation.

4. Different choice of jobs: There are various kinds of jobs that are advertised in the job portals. The wide choice that the individual has can be a boon at a time when getting a job is so difficult. The choice can be made known in the profile of the person. It is also easy for searching the job, as the various jobs are all categorized neatly.

5. Anytime search: There is no time limit for searching for a job on the Internet job searching portals. This is because if an Internet connection is present, the individual can keep browsing the job portals till they tire or get the right kind of results. It is more simple and easy than a physical job search by approaching various companies.

These are the various advantages of the Internet job portals for both the potential employer in searching for the right employee and the potential employee in searching for the right job.
