Abortion is a delicate issue which many people have to deal with. Abortion is defined as killing of the foetus in the womb of the mother. Abortion is a crime. Abortion is a evil. The major factors which causes a woman to undergo abortion is as follows: 1) Occupation- Young working women do not want children quickly give the lame excuse is that the coming of this child into this world is a mistake and they are not ready to carry this burden upon their shoulders soon. Well all I want to know is how can a child be a burden when they themself were a child at one point? If their parents would have taken similar stance then you would not be living today. 2) Yet some mothers opinion is that inspite of both husband and wife working they cannot afford to take up unnecessary expenses like bringing up of a child specially if it is a girl in case of marriage. Pre-Sex Determination test and Pre-Selection Test are tests through which the sex of the child is detected and then depending upon the sex of the child the child is aborted. This is the major cause as to why the rates of abortion are increasing day by day. Yet besides a operation other techniques through which abortion is carried out is a) Taking a poisonous plant's juice on the breast of the mother and through breast feeding the child dies. This is usually carried out in rural areas. b) The other process is strangling the neck of the child and putting it to death and telling the mother that the child had died in the womb of the mother. This ruthless act is committed by usually the in-laws and the husband. c) The other way is by putting fear of death on the mother through which the mother forcefully and unwillingly causes abortion upon herself. Yet sometimes when teenagers are pregnant and commit abortion upon themselves they do not even once realize that their can be danger upon both the lives i.e. the mother and child . Yet she undergoes abortion ready to face the risk because she cannot face the guilt and shame throughout her life. Thus NGO's, women organizations and women associations like "Bailancho Saad, Bailancho Ekvott" try to educate the women and make them realize that be it a boy or a girl child they are equally important in the eyes of god and try and prevent themselves from undergoing this big evil i.e. abortion which is a crime and thus eradicate the guilt, shame and ridicule which they are living with. I conclude by saying that dear mothers do not you all hear the voice of your child in your womb crying "Mummy why me do you not love me? What did I ever do for you to hate me before I come into this world? Do you not want to catch me in your arms and feel the gentle touch of my fingers and toes". Try and reduce the rate of abortion specially in India. Try and change these age old beliefs, practices and superstitions that a girl child is of no use and make this a beautiful, serene and calm place to live in. My dear friends if you do not want children do not have them but after you are aware that you are pregnant do not commit abortion upon yourselves as it will leave a scar upon you which inspite of wanting to forget your conscience will not permit you to forget the evil that you have committed instead you could give your little child to the orphanages in your locality.You would receive a blessing from the lord almighty.
