5 important constituents of a vegetarian diet that provides balanced nutrition

Vegetarian food that people eat is one of the best and naturally formulated diets for people of all ages and all countries. Veganism is the best food that is healthy and can be useful in preventing many diseases. The most important reason that veganism is beneficial is because of the balanced nutrition that is provided by the vegetables and fruits that are consumed.

The various nutrition that is provided by vegetables and fruits are listed below:

1. Vitamins:


Vitamins that are present in the fruits and vegetables constitute for all the vitamins that are required by the human body for normal functioning. The most common vitamin that is found is Vitamin C which acts as an antiosidant and also helps to heal various kinds of wounds on the body. These include oral ulcers. In fact Vitamin B deficiency can cause oral ulcers. Vitamin E is very useful in keeping parts of the body like the skin , heart, eyes and brain in good shape. The good function of these parts of the body are possible only when there is adequate intake of Vitamin E. The most abundant source of Vitamin E is green leafy vegetables.

2. Minerals:

Fruits and vegetables also contain many essential minerals like Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium. Magnesium is very important to help in the absorption of Calcium. Calcium is very important to build bones and make them strong. It helps to prevent osteoporosis. Potassium on the other hand helps to reduce the acidity by providing a balance in the body. Potassium also helps to prevent cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The presence of these minerals in the vegan diet helps to prevent diseases. The balanced nutrition present in vegetables and fruits that are consumed help to maintain a persons health.

3. Proteins:

Proteins are found in both animal food and also plant based food. The protein in the plant based foods help in many ways. Many foods like lentils, peas and beans contain large amounts of protein in them. Proteins actually help in reducing the weight of a person and a protein rich diet is considered to be best to manage obesity. Balanced nutrition is obtained in veganism that provides adequate amounts of protein in the diet.

4. Fiber:

Plant based foods are a rich source of fiver. This is another reason for the health benefits provided by veganism. The presence of fiber in the food helps to prevent constipation and also helps in preventing colon cancer.

5. Antioxidants:

Another benefit of veganism is the presence of rich antioxidants of different types. These help to prevent the occurrence and also the severity of various chronic diseases including cancer and heart diseases. This is because of the neutralization of free radicals by these antioxidants. Antioxidants are present in plant based diet and provided a balance of nutrition.

The various nutrients in the vegan diet that include essential minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, essential fats from oils of plant based food and also the various other substances like vitamins and antioxidants not only provide a balanced and nutritious diet, but they also help to maintain the health of the person and keep them disease free.
